The Chakyath Mallisseri family is one of the ancient and reputed families in Thalassery with aaroodam at Chakyath Home, Chakyath Mukk, Thalassery.
One of the old ancestor (Guru) of this family has installed the idol of Goddess Bhadrakali (Paradevatha) beneath a jack tree and started worship. Saktheya pooja was the main offering in this Devasthanam and was done by the family members themselves.
Even though there was our own Devasthanam, most of the family members were ignorant about this aaroodam. Late Chakyath Gopalan and family members residing in Chakyath House lightened the lamp everyday without any interruption till date.
Meanwhile some bad incidents reached in search of our roots of the family and ancestors and a Devaprasnam was conducted under the auspicious leadership of Late C. C .Raghavan, who was the first chief patron of Chakyath Mallisseri Kudumba Kshemayogam.
The Devaprasnam revealed that re-installation of idol is found necessary and subsequently it was done on 9th Makaram 1175 by Brahmasree Kuniyillath Narayanan Namboothiri, the temple Thanthri.
Wherever our family members met astrologers, they told that there is the existence of one more Goddess. In order to find out this another Devaprasnam was conducted and the astrologers confirmed the existence of Goddess Raktheswari and Guru. The installation of idol of Raktheswari is yet to be done.
Formerly the land in which now the Brahmasthanam stands were under procession of our family an the holy “Nagam” which were worshipped by the ancestors are still residing in the holes of the existing old well in the land. In the re-installation day we give a lamp to the Brahmasthanam and they give us rice and coconut oil as concecuted by holy mother Matha Amrithananda Mayi Devi.
As stated, the old installation was under a jack tree. In the Devaprasnam conducted, it was revealed that our Paradevatha wishes to have a temple with all traditional amenities such as Sanctum Sanatorium, “Pattupura” etc.
Accordingly the construction of temple was started. Sri Cheruvally Narayanan Namboodiri has peg marked the temple and work started under the technical supervision of Sri C. C. Prabhakaran Asst. Exe. Engineer who is the president of the Yogam. Also Late V. Gopalan, Vice president of the Yogam worked full time for the construction. We remember with gratitude the services rendered by Late A. Raghavan in processing the materials in time for the construction. The re-installation was done on 11-05-2000 by Brahma Sree Kuniyillath Narayanan Namboodiri, the temple Thanthri.
